¿Dónde Piko Está Mi Dinero?

¡Mba'éichapa!

The work continues, my friends, and I am loving it! Here's a few stories from this week.

Every Sunday we wake up bright and early and walk to a poorer neighborhood in our area to bring kids to church whose parents don't want to go. This week 7 people came with us and it was awesome to see these kids desire to attend church.

This Sunday I also gave my first talk in Spanish. 15 minutes of terror but I did it! And people said that they actually understood me woohoo!!

  • We got to do baptisms for the dead this week with our ward! Temple work is so cool!
  • Had some fun lessons
  • Taught members how to make brownies
  • Played Uno with some ladies in the ward, in case you were wondering- I won
  • A bunch of American missionaries had to do immigrations (Hermana Pendleton included) so we went to a super fancy lunch after! It was so good!
  • Being a city girl has been fun but what the what, money doesn't last here.

"July 24th, Pioneer Day, marks the date in 1847 when the first group of pioneers, many pulling handcarts, ended their treacherous journey across the country from Illinois to the Salt Lake Valley." Soooooo- happy Pioneer day y'all! I am so grateful for what they sacrificed, I hope you are too:)

Te amo,

Feeling Zen

The weeks are flying by and am having a blast! Lots of great things happened this week! We had the opportunity to go to the temple with some members and participate in a wedding/sealing and it was so awesome and magical and beautiful!

This week we found three old investigators who took the lessons in 2016. They may have not been ready back then, but they have a ton of potential and I truly believe they are ready now. #prayforRosa

Alllllssooooo, Giovanni got the priesthood and it was so awesome to see how excited he was. He was on cloud 9, walking so tall, and we are so happy for him!

  • Acai like every other day
  • We randomly ran into the other HEFY group and had a short impromptu spiritual thought with them on the balcony overlooking the temple. (Secret Spot)
  • I saw Hermana Brown (my MTC comp) for a hot second
  • We made a lot of videos this week for the Facebook page- shout out to the homies who gave it a thumbs up
  • My cousin brought me some treats from the states.. one of which was PEANUT BUTTER! (Thanks Aunt Rachie)
  • Today for pday we went to the zooooooo- kinda.  The zoo was closed, but there were pretty plants in gardens so- fun!
  • Saw my mission mom, Hermana Gill.
  • We had in person zone conference and it was a PARTY!! Feeling spiritually swole
  • I am surprisingly, out of the ordinary, shockingly cold here lately. Winter is real in Paraguay.

Keep praying, He listens!

Con amor,

Hermana Carter

Baptism Days Be Crazy

Saturday was a whirlwind of chaos- that's usually how it goes on baptism days! Was the water cold? Yes. Was the water also yellow? Yes. Did we have to fill half of the font with buckets cause it wasn't filling fast enough? Yes. Did people we were relying on say they couldn't come three minutes before the baptism? Maybe. But hey, he's baptized and we are so happy for Giovanni!

  • We did a virtual family home evening with the kids from HEFY (my cousin Lucy included!!!)
  • We've been workin out like hard core and we're gettin swole
  • We had district conference in person and we get to have interviews with the president in person tomorrow!
  • We don't have lunches with members here so you can now call us Chef Pendleton and Chef Carter
  • We've been making a lot of tomato soup- yum
  • Happy 4th of July to all those Americans! And two my two favorite British Canadians- hope you enjoyed some good ole vegemite
  • Queen of Country, Dolly Parton, has a song called "There was Jesus" and it's a banger
  • I had to say a prayer in English and I said oportunidad instead of opportunity and it was embarrassing
  • You should all give this video a watch running towards the light

Loving the work, loving the people! Till next week!

Te amo,

NDH (aka FHE) with the youth from HEFY
(They were quarantined because 4 of the boys in their group tested positive for covid. So we met virtually.)
