Like None? Like Never?

Hey!!

So what a wild week it has been! We had two intercambios. We almost had emergency transfers. My comp gave her final testimony in church before she goes home. We taught a lot of new people. It was a lil crazy but wow I love my mission so much!

  • A rain storm rolled in and within 4 minutes had flooded the streets (video attached)
  • The rain storm helped to drop the temperature a little bit so that's awesome
  • When the temp drops all the paraguayos eat chipa and cocido and it's a #vibe
  • I met a lot of amazing people this week
  • Had exchanges with a girl from Argentina #respect to the gringos that serve in Argentina because their accents are wack
  • We bought some Luque jerseys and made the mistake of wearing them in Luque. Never have I heard more people shouting at us
  • We gave a present to one of the boys in our ward who's going to serve a mission soon and his mom cried when he opened it #tierno
  • We now have a chapel in Luque Centro so goodbye bus!
  • The chapel here is hugeeee like ginormous

Next week is General Conference (wow it's already been 6 months) and I just want to invite all of you to prepare for it! Go into conference with questions and I promise you, that through those inspired talks, the spirit will answer all your questions. Start praying now. Write your questions down. Take advantage of this time to grow and receive pure revelation! Conference is sick and you can quote me on that!

Are You Going to Eat the Eyeball or am I???

So let's start out with a story that really has nothing to do with anything... There is a dog that lives here in our apartment called Pierre and he's really super weird. At times he's your best friend, at other times he wants to kill you. On Saturday, we got home after a long day and Pierre wanted to leave but our neighbor said we couldn't let him out. Soooo Pierre got really mad. He started barking and baring his teeth and then got really aggressive and wasn't letting us pass. We straight up had a standoff with our dog. I finally remembered, after like 7 minutes of just yelling "No Pierre", that I had candy in my bag for kids. So I whipped that out and threw it so he would leave us alone. He went for the candy and then we booked it. So scary. We lived! #thanks4urprayers

  • We made Paraguayan tortillas with a member (which is not even a little bit like tortillas at home- it's like a funnel cake but salty).
  • We had two intercambios, one with Laurlety and the other with Itaugua B
  • I got to spend a day with my CCM comp again #fun
  • We had lots of good lessons! I love teaching people that the gospel has been restored!!
  • #RIP bus rides to church. A remodeled chapel is opening closer to us so we won't be going on the bus anymore
  • I am so very happy
  • Thanks for the emails!   (I can only respond on Mondays)
  • If ya want, feel free to shoot me one quincee.carter@missionary.org

I have met so many amazing, humble people and I have just been blown away by the generosity and love they show to others. I invite you guys to do an auto evaluation this week and think about how you can become better and more like Christ. I invite you guys to love harder and to try to be nicer. Say you're sorry. Give someone a compliment. Don't be so quick to judge. Stop holding grudges. Honestly, humble yourself because pride is ugly. Love is beautiful. Let love in.

Lost in New York

Heyyyyooooo-

Soooo I have 2 minutes... this week

  • Zone conference was great
  • One of my fav missionaries (who was temporarily resigned here in PY) left to Columbia this week #ripHnaSegovia
  • Juan got baptized (at 7am on Sunday) and I am so happy for him!
  • He is too. Juan is so happy and it's just contagious  #180gang
  • Visited a lot of amazing people
  • So many of our friends came to church AHH!!
  • Still working on the possible worm (in my stomach) and dude it's rough
  • Hna Cluff still likes me so that's great
  • Went to the temple! I love the house of the lord:)

"The temple is the ultimate house of worship where we may feel closer to our Heavenly Father than in any other place on earth." and I testify that that is true. I feel so deeply His love there. I can feel His presence there. How blessed I feel to have temples.

So Like We Talkin' Fox Trot or Box Step

¿Como estamos? I'm doing amazing! Loving the work:)

This week started off with such a huge miracle! We were grocery shopping on pday, ya know the usual, when we realized we had 4 missed calls from one of  the members. We were like oh shoot what happened so we call back and he told us "Hermanas! Hermanas! Do you have a planner? I need you to write something down!!" and we were like okay hermano what is it and he just says "March 13th" nothing more nothing less. But I kid you not, we almost started crying in that grocery store because we knew exactly what that meant... Our friend Juan prayed and received an answer as to when he wants to get baptized. He prayed and got an answer the next morning and immediately ran to tell a family in our ward. March 13th Juan is getting baptized and I couldn't be more happy for him! Please pray for him! He is such an amazing guy!!

  • One of our friends gave me his guitar and told me to learn a song... so this should be fun
  • We had mission leadership council and its always a good time
  • We tried to make a classic Paraguayan dish and it was awful #sad
  • One of the members here just got his mission call to Argentina ¡woohoo Benja!
  • Walking a lot! There is so much work to be done here #imtired
  • The amount of cat calls we get is insane. Personal favorite from this week- princesas guapas
  • I think I have the funniest sisters- s/o to my sisters I love and miss you guys
  • I love PY
  • Lots of people are canceling this week because it's "too hot" so that just shows ya
  • We organized a family history event with the Relief Society and that was cool

I just wanted to remind everyone that through Jesus Christ we can all be forgiven. Repentance is a beautiful thing and I feel so grateful for it. You all have the potential to change! ¡Que genial!
