Squid Launcher But Instead With Bricks

Well this week flew by.. how is it already Monday again... oh my gosh TOMORROWS February.. this is freaking me out anywayssss

We had a great week of miracles and I don't have much time but let's jump in
  • we had zone conference and it was great
  • our presentation was actually pretty good so that's awesome
  • there are lots of cows here #fun
  • We found a family to teach and they have a ton of interest
  • It was 108 one day and the next it was raining and only 88 so that was sweet
  • I had intercambios with Hermana Segovia and she is amazing! I learned a lot from her
  • The Bishop took us to like 15 family's homes so that we could meet more people who live here
  • Our bishop is a homie
  • Lots of family home evenings this week and it was fun
  • There are ice cream shops called Puerto Helados here (it's like someone buying walmart ice cream in bulk and selling it from their home) and they are everywhere
  • We are living off of Puerto Helado
  • We are helping a family in our ward build a house #freelabor
  • We went to Playa Aregua today and it was really pretty
  • Our relief society president sometime just starts speaking to me in Garani and its really funny cause I don't understand it at all
  • The members are really willing to help us out in the work here
In our presentation we talked about the power of the Book of Mormon and wow I love that book. I just want to testify that I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible, together, contain the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every page testifies of Christ; that He is our Savior, that He has prepared a way for us to return back to Him, that He loves all His children, in every content. I know that if somebody wants to come closer to Christ, they can do so by reading that book. If you're not reading, go read! If you've never read it, let me know and I'll get you one. That little blue book has changed my life, and I know it has the potential to change yours.

Too Much of a Coincidence to be Just a Coincidence

What a great few past weeks in the service of the Lord!!!!! We have been working very hard (like usual) and seeing miracles!  Hermana Cluff is a spiritual giant. I am learning tons with her!! She is super fun and we get along really well!

We got super close in the first week because we just happened to have to quarantine for 6 days! Super fun!! So yeah, after cambios one of the sisters called us and said they had covid and the next day I tested positive! It kinda took me out, not gonna lie! But hey, we are out of quarantine now, my lungs are working more or less, and we are going ham *as the kids say*

  • We set a baptismal date with Blas Pastor and we are SO happy for him
  • Stefano, a kid in my old ward (Moroni), got his mission call to Toronto Canada
  • We had a huge family home evening and it was so fun
  • the members are amazing here
  • we have zone conference tomorrow so that should be awesome
  • It has been 106 here the past 5 days and today its 108 #superfun
  • Due to the high temps, sometimes our air conditioning and water doesn't work so that's even more fun- not!
  • found a lot of new people to teach this week
  • I'm trying to learn how to do the worm (and it hurts) so if anybody has tips let me know

Lots of great things are happening and I feel so grateful to be part of this work! I feel so honored that I can represent my Savior everyday out here. He has blessed me immensely these past 11 months and I am excited to see what else He will do!

Alma 26:12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

Just a Wee Lil' Jengibre (and a video!)

Haupai!

This transfer has been the longest but also the shortest six weeks of my life. I will not lie, it was hard... really hard. But hey, we did it! We made it through, and things are only going up from here! Tomorrow I'm going to the office to pick up my new companion. Her name is Hermana Cluff, she is from the states and she seems great! I'm excited for what's in store with her.

We have been working extremely hard here in Marmabure and great things are happening. It is hotter than heck but its all right.. maybe someday I'll get used to it.. probably not

  • I got a hardcore sunburn #usesunscreen
  • had intercambios with Anahi, Itagau B, and Laurety = it was a party
  • had the zone confrencies for Capiata and Luque = they went super well
  • Rocio said she wants to be baptized!!! She just has to get married first #welcometoparaguay
  • I ate BLOOD SAUSAGE and INTESTINE - 0/10! Would not recommend
  • Katherine is reading the Book of Mormon! She's already in 2 Nephi!!
  • Consejo de liderazgo was a blast! Very excited to work hard and help our zones to progress
  • Richard and Nuri are loving the lessons and super receptive to what we say
  • Hermana Gebs is ending her 18 month mission so we said lots of goodbyes this week #sad
  • oh yeah, happy new year
  • I also wanted to shout out my parents for being such great examples! love you guys:)

If you haven't had the chance to read the wise words of Prophet Nelson in regards to the new year and goal setting I highly recommend doing so and I will add it below!

I’m sure many of you are setting aside time today to write down your resolutions for the coming year. May I make a few suggestions?

First, resolve to strengthen your spiritual foundation. This may involve setting a specific time and place to study the scriptures, praying more often, making temple worship a bigger priority, and letting God prevail in all aspects of your life.

Second, resolve to be kind to others. When the Savior Jesus Christ visited the Americas, as recorded in the Book of Mormon, one of the first things He taught was the need to eliminate contention in our lives. So, please be compassionate, be understanding, be slow to judge, and be quick to forgive.

Third, resolve to be resolute. The Lord loves effort. The Lord loves consistency. The Lord loves steadfastness. While we surely will come up short from time to time, our persistent efforts to hear Him and follow the inspiration He gives us will help us to “wax strong in the Spirit” (Mosiah 18:26).

May God bless you, my dear friends, and may this be a wonderful year of purpose and possibilities for all of us.

Thank you all for your letters and support! It means the world:)
