Pants are of the Devil

Mba'e la porte? So this week it was 102 but the weather said it felt like 111 and I say that it was 309! It was a great, hot, sweaty week!

  • We had lots of NDH this week and the members here are legit!!
  • We made empanadas by hand and they were actually super rico
  • There's a soccer team here called Luque and the entire city is obsessed with them... everything is painted blue and yellow
  • I think I had a minor heat stroke when we walked for 3 hours straight to get to our friends house
  • Our mission just got a lil more exciting.. we received missionaries from Brazil, Honduras, Ecuador, Mexico and Chile!!
  • Juan is making major progress. He is going to church, reading the Book of Mormon, and last night we asked him to pray about getting baptized and he said okay. I have full confidence in him! #pray4juan
  • More intercambios and man going to different places every week kinda takes it out of you ngl but I'm learning lots!!
  • I love the members here with all my heart
  • Ari is a savage. She's 6.  Just thought I would throw that in
  • I ate something spicy for the first time... Paraguayans don't like spice so they just don't use it

Just a reminder that God and Jesus love you! I hope you never forget that! They love you so much:)

I Think It Was The Homicide

Hola amiguitos-

Wow! I love being a missionary. It's amazing how every week here, my testimony is being strengthened. I'm growing as a missionary and as a person. I know that this growth has been thanks to this amazing area, the examples of the people here, and the examples of my past 9 companions. It has been such a blessing to serve this past year and I'm excited for what the next 6 months have to bring!

  • We had stake conference and three of our friends came
  • The speakers at stake conference were amazing and I learned so much #eldercostaissocool
  • We are teaching a girl named Mayeli and she's 18 and she's amazing
  • We made some pancakes and they almost killed us #badleche
  • Our friend Guillermo is already in Alma in el BOM and that's awesome
  • Had cambios and it looks like hermana cluff and I are sticking together #swag
  • We played volleyball as a district and I popped the ball after 15 minutes
  • Noche de Hogar with Familia Baez has become a tradition and I absolutely love it
  • we have a dog that lives in our patio named Pierre
  • We had a really fun lesson with some guy who told us that we might be children of snakes
Here's a quote I liked this week: "there is no spiritual power in living by convenience." When something is too convenient or too easy, to be honest, we should be concerned. Following Jesus Christ has never been and will never be easy. And it shouldn't be! Salvation is not easy because the price He paid for us was not cheap. It is so common these days to just get lazy, to just sluff things off, please I beg of you to stop sluffing. Make an effort. Give it your all. Make those little sacrifices that aren't easy but are so worth it.
Read your scriptures even if you don't feel like it. Pray even when you don't feel like talking. And please go to church on Sunday and partake of the sacrament. When we partake of the sacrament we are reminded of the price He paid. The sacrifice that Christ made and the life He lived was so far from easy... but thanks to His willingness, if we choose to follow Him, problems and all, He will reward us. I bear testimony that sacrifices are rewarded.

We Found Mama Odie

This week was amazing!  It was a week that I will cherish forever. A week I will never forget, and to just be honest, a week that I can't put it into words. It was incredible!

  • We found so many prepared people, full of great questions and such a desire to change
  • Lots of members helped us out this week #mbaretemarambure
  • Update: I can do the frog pose in yoga but a full headstand has not been achieved yet.. but we WILL get there!!
  • We taught the message of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ a lot and I love that lesson so much! There is so much power ahhh
  • Had intercambios with Itaugua and it was a good time
  • I love my family- just a side note
  • One of our friends Guillermo said he wants to get baptized #swag
  • Happy Valentines day!
Guys I'm sorry, I'm trying to explain how amazing this week was but I can't. I just love being a missionary so much. I love and feel so grateful for the restored gospel in my life. I will never be able to express my gratitude for my Savior and his sacrifice for me, that through Him, I can change and become better.
