Don't Dream It's Over

Hola Amigos-

Kavy got baptized this weekend and we are so happy for her!!! I am a big believer that you can feel the spirit through song, and let me tell ya, the spirit was so strong as Hermana Castro sang a special number for Kavy. We were all crying!

  • My comps want to learn English so I'm teaching them a bunch of 80s songs
  • Two ladies in our ward gave birth on the same day
  • Waldimar and Rosa are kinda crazy but that's okay
  • We had a super great noche de hogar with our bishop and wife
  • Rasta and Carlos came to church
  • I was offered fernet and my little sheltered brain didn't know what it was, thank goddess my comps did and stopped me from drinking this native alcoholic drink
  • There are so many little buggy cars here. Pobrecita Hermana Roman, she has so many bruises. I am queen of punch buggy
  • Margarita almost killed us this week #ghostsarereal

We got to go to the temple as a district and it was so awesome! I love the temple and the peace we can feel when we are inside!  The temple really is the house of the Lord and a little piece of heaven here on earth.

bUt wHOs thE FaThER??!!?!

What's happening amigos! Just here to say I'm loving life and serving the people in Paraguay is such a huge blessing!

The people here are really so amazing, I don't think I could say that enough! It has been so awesome to grow as a person and really push myself to see people through the Savior's eyes, and it really is just amazing, how much He loves these people... and in turn, I love these people so much!
  • We set a baptismal date with Rasta!!! PLEASE keep him in your prayers:)
  • We had a super great lesson with this guy named Carlos, he replied to a Facebook ad I created so that's kind of amazing!
  • We are working really hard in Facebook and it's pretty awesome to see the success
  • We found an ice cream place that was sooo ricooo and- get this- it was 30 cents for two scoops
  • Liper came to church and she brought a friend with her #missionary
  • Had zone conference and I had to play guitar -yikes!
  • Learned a lot in zone conference.. what's new
  • Hermana Roman got stuck in the church bathrooms
  • I had to go to Migrations to do some paperwork #imlegal
  • I hit 9 months as a missionary! 1/2 of my mission ¡Que loco!
  • I love my family
"When you feel like you have failed too many times to keep trying, remember Christ’s Atonement and the grace it makes possible are real." -Brad Wilcox! If you haven't had the chance to listen to this talk.. you should

Just something funny to add, I have gotten real tired of all the unwanted cat calls we receive from men we pass.  So my companion taught me how to say "whatcha looking at ugly" in Guarani. It usually shuts them up! Perks of having a native comp!

So We Are Mom's Now??

Hola Everyone!

Well this week we gave birth to a beautiful little Chilena girl! On Tuesday we went to the mission office to pick up our greenie, still not knowing who she was or where she was from! It was *ahhh* painful having to wait but wow I am so happy with our little surprise! She really is just the best and is so prepared to be a missionary!

  • Rasta came to church again so we are super stoked about that
  • Kavey is 11 and couldn't get baptised because her dad said no but he changed his mind and she is gonna get baptized next month!!
  • Somebody stole my alfajores and that's just messed up
  • Rosa, remember her, well she called us and said she wanted to be baptised...
  • We had a huge devotional with 4 other zones and it was so awesome!
  • ^^learned a ton and feeling pumped
  • It rained a lot and then it was super hot- paraguay weather is loco
  • We had a noche de hogar with Famila Escobar and it was great
  • Hermana Vargas made us brownies that actually tasted like brownies and not like chocolate cake. I love her.
  • Had to say goodbye to my bff Elder Childs and that was sad. He didn't die or anything, just got transferred.

This week in church we had some really great talks that I wanted to share. Both were about adversity and the hard times that everyone goes through. And that's the thing, everyone goes through tough times, we can't prevent these situations but we do have a way to alleviate these burdens. There is someone who is there with you and someone who understands you. He knows you "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee" Jeremiah 1:5

Te amo,

Hermana Carter

Welcome to the mission Hermana Castro!!
